The Calgary Jewish Academy is looking for a passionate & energetic part time & substitute educational assistants. The qualified candidate will provide support services to students and teachers in a school setting to meet curricular outcomes.
Responsibilities:
The Educational Assistant (EA) will be responsible for working with individuals and small groups of students to assist them with classroom routines, class work, and activities;
The qualified candidate will assist in the supervision of playground activities;
Provide assistance to children with various degrees of need in the learning environment.
Skills & Qualifications:
Grade 12 diploma from a provincially recognized institution or equivalent.
Post-secondary courses in programs such as Early Childhood Development, Educational Assistant, Behavioural Support Worker, Youth Worker, Rehabilitation Worker, Personal Care Aide or equivalent post-secondary courses in a related area from a recognized institute and or related experience would be an asset.
Valid First Aid Certification is required.
Experience working in a school setting.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team player.
Flexibility and adaptability to changing situations.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
A current Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check is required.
