By the time students are in Grade Nine they have developed time management, critical thinking and organizational skills through focused study habits. Students are encouraged to ask profound questions to hone their understanding of the world. We take seriously our responsibility to help our students to become respectful and contributing members of the school family as well as the larger Jewish and global communities. Small classes and highly trained academic specialists in language arts, social studies, math, science, Hebrew and Jewish Studies give CJA students more opportunities to lead and to inspire others.
The end of ninth grade provides students multiple opportunities to demonstrate the success of their learning journey as they transition to various high schools. Local high schools routinely report that CJA students are well-prepared for the transition, are confident in their ability to learn and participate in classes and sharing their leadership abilities beginning in their first year of high school.
The CJA has accreditation to offer High School programming. Throughout Junior High, our students are provided with the opportunity to accelerate their courses in Mathematics and Judaic Studies. Students also engage in Judaic electives and Alberta CTS options.
