Whether you attended I.L. Peretz School, Calgary Hebrew School, or Calgary Jewish Academy last year or decades past, you’ll always be part of the CJA family. Everyone has a story to tell, and in the case of Carla Kettner, there are more than a few. A Grade 9, 1972 Calgary Hebrew School graduate, Carla’s passion for writing started the moment she could pick up a pencil.
Every community needs a leader, and Rabbi Matthew Ponak, a CJA Grade 9, 2000 graduate, is one of them. He has built a career as an author, spiritual counsellor, and teacher of Jewish mysticism.
When there is a call for help, Joel Zimmerman, a CJA 2006, Grade 9 graduate, answers it. As a Registered Psychologist, this CJA alumnus strives to be someone in his community that anyone can turn to no matter what their challenges may be.
