School Office Assistant -  Fulltime 1.0

Calgary Jewish Academy is seeking applicants who have school office assistant experience to join the CJA staff.  The position start date is August 22, 2022. 

The purpose of this position is to provide confidential administrative, secretarial and office management support, often in an independent manner, to the staff and students of the CJA. 

This position is accountable for providing effective and accurate support services to ensure the efficient workflow and operation of the school as well as for providing and disseminating accurate information regarding school decisions, procedures, practices and policies. 

The incumbent requires specific skills necessary to perform a variety of functions that are unique to the setting including responding to parents and the needs of students such as sickness and injury.

Responsibilities include;

Serves as an Office Assistant to the Office Manger, Principal and administrators as well as students in the school.  Takes attendance, calls parents regarding absences and supports office team with assigned duties.  Sorts and refers mail and e-mail, phone calls and answering routine correspondence as necessary. Screens calls and provides factual information regarding the operation of the school.  Prepares form letters and notices. 

Ensures provision of reception service to telephone and counter callers, relays messages, and makes appointments and supplies factual information, including basic school policy and procedures. 

Schedules conference and meeting rooms.  As required, may assist with bookings, arranges transportation, processes release forms, permission slips, and notices according to established procedures for field trips. Supports office staff and school staff with copying, event planning and support of students.

Maintaining office files, wall charts, bulletin boards, etc.  May also be responsible for the production of school newsletters, and teacher/ student handbooks/agendas.

School based experience is an asset.  Windows Office, excel spread sheet required.  School record information system is an asset.

Salary range is consistent with experience and school based salaries.

Must have current Vulnerable Sector Clearance.

Level One and child and infant CPR required but can be taken upon successful interview

Teacher: Grades 1 to 4 Physical Education/ Grade 3 to 4 Science/Social Studies Teacher Calgary Jewish Academy

Calgary Jewish Academy is looking to hire a highly motivated and qualified, dynamic, diversified, and passionate Individual to teach Physical Education to Grades 1 to 4 as well as additional courses for the upcoming school year (2022-2023). Generalist experience would be an asset
