2020-2021 COVID-19 Resources

The CJA plans to begin in person classes starting September 1st, 2020. See below for copies of email communications and resourses related to the CJA's re-entry plan. Updates to this section are ongoing, and more information will become available shortly.

Email to CJA Families Sent October 15th:

We have received updates and important information regarding COVID, symptoms and return to school changes in the included AHS guidelines.

A student who is required to isolate due to symptoms may return to school—before 10 days—if they test negative for COVID-19 and no longer have symptoms, as long as they have not been identified as a close contact of a case of COVID-19

Please see the following link for very important changes released by AHS pertaining to COVID and Return to School following illness updates, received October 14, 2020. Although the Covid protocol states return to school when symptom free, this does not supersede the CJA/AHS health protocol.  Please note the CJA/AHS health protocol still remains 24 hours symptom free if a child has vomiting, diarrhea, or a temperature.  Again, if a child is ill at school for any of the above, they need to be away from school the following day.

Please review the attached information and links. We have been advised that:

There is also an updated Daily Health Check Form that all students and staff should do every day prior to attending at CJA.

Please see the Guidance document for students related to if a Student Shows Symptoms.  Please review and print the How Long to Stay Home Document

As well, to further help parents/guardians and families understand what is expected of them during COVID-19, there is a new Alberta Health Services website: Guidance for Parents of Children Attending School and/or Childcare. It contains printable PDFs explaining what to do if a child has symptoms or is a close contact.

Please continue to review the AHS website and update the school if your child or any family member must be away due to contact with a foreign traveler, contact with a presumptive case of COVID or confirmation of family member contact to someone who has tested positive.

Again, thank you all for your continued support and diligence in keeping your children home when they are ill or have symptoms and for continuing to inform us if your child is ill.
