Calgary Jewish Academy Special Services
Remedial Programs
Assessment of student needs is an integral part of our program
and helps provide opportunities for the optimal progress of each student. Students
in need of remedial programs are offered resource room teaching
by specialist staff. Rapid track and remedial Hebrew helps students develop competence in Hebrew and facilitates
the entry of students at any grade regardless of background
in Hebrew.
Guidance Counseling
The Calgary Jewish Academy’s School Counsellor is a professional
teacher-counsellor who provides individual student counselling,
teaches classes, liaises with external agencies and professionals
to provide individual assessments and other services, coordinates
our Peer Mediation Program, and facilitates graduates’ entry
to high school.
English as a Second Language Program (ESL)
Children entering our school from non-English speaking countries
are provided with a regularly scheduled E.S.L. program commencing
on entry and continuing as long as necessary.
