About The Calgary Jewish Academy The Calgary Jewish Academy was founded in 1987 as a result of the amalgamation of Calgary's first Jewish schools- The Calgary Hebrew School (1920), and The l.L. Peretz School (1928). The Calgary Jewish Academy continuously strives to meet the needs of a growing, dynamic community. Students of the Calgary Jewish Academy receive a superior education in the Alberta curriculum, giving them a competitive edge, confidence, and foundation necessary for a smooth transition into other learning institutions. Students of the Calgary Jewish Academy develop a strong sense of Jewish identity through programs which raise the level of Jewish education and consciousness.   The Calgary Jewish Academy recognizes that parents are the prime resource for the child.
